EcoFlow, a company known for its innovative power solutions, has shown off its latest portable AC and heater, the Wave 2. This new addition to the EcoFlow family promises to provide campers and RV enthusiasts with a more efficient and effective solution for managing temperature changes while on the go.
EcoFlow’s Wave 2 was first introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 and has since been creating a buzz among outdoor enthusiasts. This new design features more cooling power and, for the first time, a heating element. This combination makes it an excellent choice for those who love to explore the great outdoors but don’t want to be at the mercy of Mother Nature’s changing temperatures.
The Wave 2 has an impressive 5,100 BTU of cooling power and 6,100 BTU of heating power, which is enough to cool or heat a roughly 100-square-foot space. This makes it ideal for a tent accommodating up to six people. Additionally, Wave 2 can quickly drop or increase the temperature by 18 degrees Fahrenheit in just 5 minutes.
One of the most impressive features of the Wave 2 is its runtime. With its detachable 1,159 kWh battery, this portable AC and heater can run for up to 8 hours. However, for those who require longer runtimes, the Wave 2 can be paired with EcoFlow’s portable power stations for up to 18 hours of cooling or heating. Moreover, Wave 2 can be recharged within 2 hours via a wall socket or a car’s outlet, or even solar panels.
Wave 2 also features three modes to help users customize their experience based on their needs. These modes are Eco, Sleeping, and Fast. In Eco mode, Wave 2 consumes less power, while Sleeping mode produces significantly less noise, reducing the device’s decibel output from 56 dB to 44 dB.
Despite its impressive features, the Wave 2 is relatively compact, weighing just 31 pounds and being 22 percent smaller than its predecessor, the first Wave portable AC. Moreover, Wave 2 is also designed to be mobile, making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.
Wave 2 will be available from May 15th, with a starting price of $1,299. However, those who want to go fully mobile with the Wave 2 will need to purchase an additional battery, which retails for $899, making it a costly investment.
