Disney is implementing price hikes across its streaming platforms. Effective October 17th, subscribers to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ will face increased monthly and annual subscription fees.
The move comes as the entertainment giant seeks to bolster profitability in its streaming division. New pricing structures for individual and bundled plans will be as follows:
Disney+
- Disney+ with ads: $9.99/month (up from $7.99)
- Disney+ ad-free: $15.99/month (up from $13.99), $159.99/year (up from $139.99)
Hulu
- Hulu with ads: $9.99/month (up from $7.99), $99.99/year (up from $79.99)
- Hulu ad-free: $18.99/month (up from $17.99)
- Hulu + Live TV with ads: $82.99/month (up from $76.99)
- Hulu + Live TV ad-free: $95.99/month (up from $89.99)
ESPN+
- ESPN+: $11.99/month (up from $10.99), $119.99/year (up from $109.99)
Bundled plans
- Duo Basic (Disney+ and Hulu with ads): $10.99/month (up from $9.99)
- [unchanged] Duo Premium (Disney+ and Hulu ad-free): $19.99/month
To offset the price increases, Disney+ is introducing additional features. Beginning September 4th, subscribers will gain access to ABC News Live and a series of curated playlists. While specific details about the playlists are forthcoming, they are expected to encompass a variety of content, including preschool programming, classic shows, and documentaries.
