OpenAI has finally introduced its ChatGPT app for Windows, but it’s currently available only to paid subscribers, such as those on Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu plans. The app, which can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store, allows users to interact with the AI model in a dedicated window alongside other apps. It includes features like file uploads and photo sharing, along with access to OpenAI’s o1-preview model, which is designed for better reasoning capabilities.

The app isn’t fully functional yet—it lacks advanced voice mode support and certain integrations with OpenAI’s GPT Store. However, OpenAI plans to roll out the full version later this year, potentially extending it to free users in the future.
If you’ve been using the Mac version, the Windows app offers a similar experience, including handy shortcuts like Alt + Space for quick access. Despite being in preview mode, it already provides enough functionality to enhance productivity, especially for subscribers eager to test its new features.

With the Windows app still in its early stages, OpenAI promises future updates that will further refine the user experience and ensure that it meets user needs across various platforms.
