The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a gathering of technology companies, developers, and media that takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada every year. It’s an opportunity for companies to showcase their latest and greatest gadgets and technologies to the world, and for media and industry experts to get a glimpse of what’s on the horizon in the world of tech.

The CES 2023 will take place this week, starting with media previews on Tuesday, Jan. 3, and Wednesday, Jan 4, 2023, and opening to attendees on Thursday, Jan. 5th, and running through Sunday, Jan. 8th, 2023.

The show, which is not open to the general public, will feature innovations in virtual reality, robotics, and consumer tech from over 3,000 companies, including startups and tech giants like Amazon and Facebook parent company Meta.

The event is being organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), with the goal of attracting 100,000 attendees. This would be a marked contrast to the past two shows, one of which saw a 70% drop in in-person attendance due to the Omicron variant and the other of which was held virtually due to the pandemic.

While the CES is aiming for 100,000 attendees, this would still represent a 41% dip compared to the in-person show held in early 2020 before the pandemic. Many tech companies, including some participating in the CES, have implemented hiring freezes and laid off workers due to economic concerns.

CES 2023 is shaping up to be a major event in the tech world, and it’s sure to be full of exciting new gadgets and technologies. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast looking for the latest and greatest products, or a media or industry professional looking to get a glimpse of what’s on the horizon, CES 2023 is an event you won’t want to miss.
