Microsoft continues to push Copilot aggressively. The AI-powered programming assistant is available across many Microsoft products and services, including Windows, Microsoft Edge, Office, Notepad, and even the SwiftKey keyboard. While Copilot’s autocomplete suggestions can be helpful for some, not everyone is a fan of having AI features enabled everywhere. If you want to disable Copilot on your Windows PC, a free utility called BloatynosyAI can help.
BloatynosyAI is the latest iteration of the Bloatynosy app originally created by developer Belim to remove bloatware from Windows. The newest 2.0 version adds support for disabling AI features like Copilot in both Windows 11 and Windows 10.
At first glance, BloatynosyAI doesn’t look like a typical Windows app. There’s no main interface with buttons and menus. Instead, you interact with it through a search bar, almost like chatting with an AI assistant. The irony of using an AI tool to remove AI capabilities aside, this approach makes the app easy to use.
To disable Copilot or other AI features, simply open BloatynosyAI and type “AI” into the search bar. This will display suggested actions like “Remove AI in Taskbar (Copilot button)” or “Remove AI icon in Microsoft Edge.” Click on the suggestion matching what you want to disable, and BloatynosyAI will instantly make the change. A message in the status bar will confirm the command was executed successfully.

The major benefit of using BloatynosyAI is it automates editing the registry to turn off AI features. You don’t have to dig into obscure settings yourself. For less tech-savvy users who still want more control over AI in Windows, BloatynosyAI is a handy utility.
BloatynosyAI is available on GitHub and is portable, meaning no installation is required. Just download the files and run BloatynosyAI [.exe]. Do note that it’s still in preview, so some bugs may exist. The source code is public under the MIT license if you want to check it out or contribute.
Final thoughts
If you’re looking for a simple way to purge AI bloatware like Copilot from Windows 10 or 11, BloatynosyAI is worth a try. The AI assistant-style interface makes disabling unwanted AI capabilities straightforward. Microsoft may want AI everywhere, but this utility lets you choose what runs on your PC.
