Biggest highlights from Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase

The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 reveals new titles and trailers which will be set to come out in the next 12 months, with Xbox Game Pass. Here is everything they announced at a live event.

Xbox Game Pass membership

Redfall

The event began with a new look at the gameplay of Redfall. Before the trailer moved on to some story setup, we were treated to some gunplay. We also got a look at the four playable characters in the game. Without a doubt, Redfall is shaping up to be one of the year’s most anticipated titles.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

We also got to see gameplay from Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is definitely one of the most anticipated indie games in recent memory. Fans will be thrilled to note that it will be a day one Game Pass title, though no official release date has been set.

High on Life

This rather unusual first-person shooter comes from the creators of Rick and Morty and has the player blasting enemies with sentient weaponry. It offers a “trippy” spin on the genre that can only be defined as unique.

Riot Games

The League of Legends developer has several games to showcase with its own segment. Among their PC and mobile games headed to Game Pass is League of Legends: All Champions Unlocked (PC), League of Legends: Wild Rift (mobile): All Champions Unlocked, Legends of Runeterra (PC & Mobile): Foundations Set Unlocked, Teamfight Tactics (PC & Mobile): Select Little Legends Unlocked, and Valorant (PC): All Agents Unlocked.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

This game starts up where A Plague Tale: Requiem left off, but it decides to move protagonists Amcia and Hugo to the south of France. When it comes out later this year, this will be another day one Game Pass game.

Forza Motorsport

We finally got a glance at the upcoming Forza Motorsport game, which will be released in spring 2023. Much of the video was focused on the fan-favorite Maple Valley Speedway, and the next-gen racer has us very impressed.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition

The showcase included a trailer for this new edition of the game, which was released to honor the game’s 40th anniversary. To put it another way, the graphics are just stunning. Enjoy the gorgeous scenery and magnificent airplanes on the exhibit. The game will be released in November 2022.

Overwatch 2

This sequel to the highly successful online shooter comes from Blizzard Entertainment. In the team-based hero shooter Overwatch 2, a “new era” is promised. On October 4th, Overwatch 2 will go into early access.

ARA: History Untold

ARA: History Untold, from the creators of the genre, promises to be the next step forward in turn-based strategy. To say the least, the trailer looks intriguing, and fans of the Civilization franchise will be particularly enthusiastic about the game’s arrival in the not-too-distant future.

The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle

Elder Scrolls Online players will be able to visit places that are never before seen in gameplay form with the High Isle addition, which will be released on June 21, for those who have a thirst for something fresh from the Elder Scrolls universe (we believe there are a few of you out there).

Fallout 76 – Expeditions: The Pitt

Players in Fallout 76 will be able to go outside Appalachia with this new content update, which will be released on September 22. Respond to the distress signal and save the residents of The Pitt from the hands of dangerous fanatics.

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels

Following the lead of the game’s predecessor, Forza Horizon 5‘s first big expansion will be inspired by Hot Wheels. The development will include a new Horizon Hot Wheels Park in the clouds high above Mexico, which will open on July 19.

ARK 2

This survival game is inspired by titles such as Nintendo‘s Breath of the Wild and the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The story trailer was stunning, and it introduced the notion of a father and daughter attempting to navigate a beautiful but perilous environment in which dinosaurs had resurfaced.

Scorn

In this gameplay trailer, this wonderfully gory first-person action game was simultaneously horrifying and impressive. On October 21, the game will be available as a day one Game Pass game.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

This official gameplay trailer for Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn focuses on the game’s dynamic combat, which features the protagonist moving between hacking with her dual-wield axes and breaking out the antique flintlock for some quick gunplay. Early in 2023, the game will be released.

Minecraft Legends

One of the show’s highlights was the Minecraft Legends (coming in 2023) announcement trailer, which gave us our first glimpse at Mojang Studio‘s next action-strategy game. This looks to be the next step in the Minecraft series, and the trailer accurately depicts what a next-generation Minecraft game will look like.

Lightyear Frontier: A Fresh Start

This game, which will be released in spring 2023, offers a unique premise that combines Armored Core or Mechassault with Stardew Valley. Putting it simply. Lightyear Frontier, on the other hand, promises to be a unique twist on the agricultural game.

Gunfire Reborn

This hilarious title, which will be available on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass in October, is better defined as a first-person action-roguelite. The game will feature some very strong action to go along with its intense characters, based on the clip shown today.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox

This is a 2.5D side-scroller with a Lovecraftian/Noir vibe and a lot of charm. The trailer showcased some of the game’s breathtakingly frightening locales and terrifying animals. This will be available to play in the spring of 2023.

As Dusk Falls

The showcase gave participants a glance at this pretty unique game, which bills itself as an interactive multiplayer tale with up to eight players. As Dusk Falls will be available as a day one Game Pass release on July 9.

Naraka: Bladepoint

The gameplay was the focus of this action game’s trailer, which also revealed the game’s new campaign mode. On June 23, it will be released for the first time on Xbox, and it will be available through Game Pass.

Grounded

Another stunning trailer showcasing the power of next-gen gaming. The player controls four miniature teenagers as they strive to survive the dangers of the backyard and figure out why they’ve been made so small in Grounded. In September of 2022, the game will be released.

Ereban: Shadow Legacy

The announcement trailer offered a sneak peek at the upcoming game. The game will be released on Xbox in 2023, and the third-person cyborg action looks to be rather fantastic.

Pentiment

Pentiment’s trailer does an excellent job of showcasing the game’s unique ancient-storybook visual aesthetic. The game is a story-driven adventure with a strong sense of the Middle Ages. It will be available on Game Pass in November.

Diablo IV

We got a good peek at Diablo IV during the demonstration. The game will have a new character class, the Necromance, as well as roughly 150 dungeons that may be completed and turned into friendly settlements! The game’s rich character creator system and wide universe were also highlighted in the trailer.

Sea of Thieves – Season 7

The official Season 7 trailer for Sea of Thieves gave us a taste of everything new coming to the swashbuckling online action-adventure game when Season 7 begins on July 21.

Ravenlok

With the official Ravenlok announcement trailer, we get an amazing new look at this new game, which will be released in 2023. The game appears to be a promising action-adventure based on fairy stories.

Cocoon

The Cocoon reveal trailer offered a look at the action-puzzle game from the same people that brought us Inside and Limbo. In 2023, the game will be released on Xbox.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, from the legendary Team Ninja, was one of the most striking trailers from the showcase. A mix of cut sequences and gameplay was included in the trailer. Wo Long be available as a day one Game Pass title on Xbox One early next year.

Persona Series

The trailer for the Persona series no doubt made RPG fans on Xbox jump for joy when they saw it. That’s right: Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable are all coming to Game Pass, beginning with Persona 5 Royal on October 21 this year.

Starfield

This is, without a doubt, what many of us were hoping to see. And the event gave participants a behind-the-scenes glimpse at one of the most eagerly anticipated games in recent years. The long trailer included some in-game footage, which had been sorely lacking up until now.

Todd Howard (director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios) claims that players will be able to not only create their own outposts but also custom-build their own spaceships, which they will be able to travel to any of the game’s many solar systems and more than 1000 planets!

Hideo Kojima & Xbox partnership

Xbox has announced a partnership with legendary game creator Hideo Kojima on an as-yet-unannounced project, according to the man himself. You can bet that whatever form this game takes, it will be fantastic.
