During the Ubisoft Forward 2023 presentation, fans of the acclaimed Assassin’s Creed franchise were treated to new details about the upcoming release, Assassin’s Creed Jade. The presentation not only showcased captivating in-game action but also surprised the audience with an unexpected platform announcement: Jade will be a free-to-play mobile game, developed in partnership with Level Infinite.

Stepping into the vibrant setting of Ancient China, specifically around 215 B.C., Assassin’s Creed Jade will take place between the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Players will embark on an extraordinary journey alongside Xia, the adopted son of Emperor Wei Yu. As Xia explores the vast landscapes of China, including iconic landmarks like the Great Wall and the imperial capital of Xianyang, players will witness a tale filled with mystery, intrigue, and rich historical context.

Building upon the beloved elements of the Assassin’s Creed series, Jade will bring the franchise’s signature style of gameplay to the mobile platform. The debut trailer showcased a combination of stealth-based movement, immersive hand-to-hand combat, and the utilization of long-range attacks through a skillful mastery of the bow and arrow. However, in a groundbreaking twist for the franchise, players will have the unprecedented ability to fully customize their lead character, Xia, allowing them to create a unique and personalized gaming experience.

Assassin’s Creed Jade is a collaborative effort between Ubisoft and Level Infinite, ensuring a high-quality mobile gaming experience. As part of the development process, Level Infinite Pass holders now have the exclusive opportunity to register for the game’s closed beta on the official Assassin’s Creed Jade website. This closed beta will provide players with an early taste of the game’s mechanics and features, allowing them to contribute valuable feedback and shape the final product.

The highly anticipated release of Assassin’s Creed Jade is scheduled for later this year, and it will be available on both iOS and Android devices. As Ubisoft continues to push boundaries and explore new platforms, the introduction of this free-to-play mobile installment is a testament to the company’s commitment to providing engaging experiences across a wide range of gaming mediums.

While Assassin’s Creed Jade undoubtedly stole the spotlight during the Ubisoft Forward presentation, it was not the sole announcement to captivate fans of the franchise. The event also showcased two additional exciting projects: Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR. These innovative ventures promise to immerse players in thrilling virtual reality adventures and expand the ever-evolving universe of Assassin’s Creed.
