Apple announces the new Apple Watch Series 7 with a bigger screen, 33 percent quicker charging support, a smaller border, a new Retina display, WR50 water resistance rating, and more at the “California streaming” event.
According to speculations, Apple Watch Series 7 will come with new size options, including 41mm and 45mm, which are upgrades over the previous 40mm and 44mm sizes. The Series 7 has softer, more rounded corners, a 50 percent crack-resistant front crystal, and is dust-resistant to IP6X standards.
Apple has reduced the border of the Watch Series 7 by 40%, allowing engineers to fit 20% more screen area than the previous model and nearly 50% more screen area than the Watch Series 3 model. The Series 7 borders are only 1.7mm thick, which is nearly 40% smaller than the Series 6, and the always-on display is now 70% brighter in indoor conditions when the user’s wrist is down.

The Apple Watch Series 7 also has a user interface that is tailored for the larger display, making it easier to see and use, as well as two new watch faces, Contour, and Modular Duo, that are built exclusively for the new device. The improved charging architecture and fast USB-C charging connection will provide users with the same all-day 18-hour battery life as the previous Watch while charging 33 percent faster. In the event, the company said, 8 minutes of charging is enough for tracking 8 hours of sleep.
Users may also take advantage of the new QWERTY keyboard, which can be tapped or swiped using QuickPath, which allows users to text by sliding their fingers across the screen.

The watchOS 8 software is available out of the box for the Apple Watch Series 7, however it will be available for free on September 20, 2021, for Apple Watch Series 3 or later models, and requires an iPhone 6s or later model.
