Apple TV+ has announced the trailer for its upcoming limited series “The Shrink Next Door” which is set to premiere globally on Friday, November 12th, 2021 on Apple TV+. Also, Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell, Kathryn Hahn, and Casey Wilson will be starring in the “The Shrink Next Door” series. Apple TV+ also revealed the series will debut the first three episodes of the eight episodes on the premiere date while the rest of the episodes will air every Friday through Dec. 17th.

Michael Showalter and Jesse Peretz direct the series, which is based on a script by Emmy, Golden Globe, BAFTA, and WGA Award winner Georgia Pritchett. Civic Center Media and MRC Television collaborated on “The Shrink Next Door.” The series is based on Wondery and Bloomberg Media’s No. 1 new podcast of 2019.

Ferrell and Rudd not only feature in the film, but they also serve as executive producers. Gloria Sanchez Productions’ executive producers will include Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Brittney Segal. Pritchett executive produces together Jordana Mollick on behalf of Semi-Formal Productions, while filmmaker Michael Showalter executive produces alongside Pritchett.

The series is based on true events, and an original podcast of the same name follows psychiatrist Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf (Paul Rudd) and his longstanding patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz’s decades-long manipulation and exploitation (Will Ferrell). Dr. Ike is accompanied by his unknowing wife Bonnie Herschkopf (Casey Wilson), and while Marty may be helpless in the face of Dr. Ike’s tempting offers, his tough sister Phyllis (Kathryn Hahn) is not.
