Apple TV+ conducted a photocall and press day for “Dr. Brain,” the highly anticipated sci-fi drama series based on Hongjacga’s iconic Korean webtoon of the same name, today in South Korea. The first episode will be available globally on Apple TV+ on Thursday, November 4 (today in the United States).
“Dr. Brain” follows Sewon, a talented brain scientist who endures a tragic personal tragedy when his family is killed in an unknown event. Desperate to find out what occurred, he goes to unusual measures to solve the tragic mystery, including conducting “brain syncs” with the deceased in order to access their memories for answers.
KIM Jee-woon, co-writer, director, and executive producer, as well as stars LEE Sun-kyun, LEE You-young, PARK Hee-soon, SEO Ji-hye, and LEE Jae-won, attended the press day. LEE Sun-kyun portrays Sewon KOH, a brain scientist at the BC Brain Research Center; LEE You-young plays Jaeyi JUNG, Sewon KOH’s wife; PARK Hee-soon plays Kangmu LEE, a private investigator; SEO Ji-hye plays Lieutenant CHOI, a police detective; and LEE Jae-won plays Namil HONG, Sewon KOH’s colleague.
KIM Jee-woon directs and executive produces “Dr. Brain.” Executive producers include Bound Entertainment’s Samuel Yeunju Ha and Jamie Yuan Lai, StudioPlex’s HAM Jung Yeub and Daniel Han, Kakao Entertainment’s Joy Jinsoo Lee and Min Young Hong, and Antonio H.W. Lee. The series is written by KIM Jin A, KOH YoungJae, and KIM Jee-woon and is based on CHO Jae-original hong’s tale and Hongjacga’s webtoon. Bound Entertainment, Kakao Entertainment, StudioPlex, and Dark Circle Pictures are producing the series for Apple TV+.
