Apple TV+ has unveiled a new docuseries about NBA legend Magic Johnson

A new Apple TV+ docuseries about the life and career of two-time NBA Hall of Famer and cultural icon Earvin “Magic” Johnson. The four-part docuseries will look at Johnson’s incredible achievements and global effect both on and off the court.

The series is directed by Rick Famuyiwa, with editing by Dirk Westervelt and cinematography by Rachel Morrison, and it is produced for Apple by XTR and New Slate Ventures, in collaboration with H.Wood Media and Delirio Films.

Through a small start in Lansing, Michigan, to a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, he transformed the debate around HIV and evolved into a community leader and successful entrepreneur. The series will include never-before-seen footage and interviews with Magic, corporate and political powerhouses, and members of his inner circle will provide an unprecedented glimpse at one of the sport’s all-time greats.
