For years, Apple Music users have faced a frustrating limitation: the inability to seamlessly transfer their carefully curated playlists to other music streaming platforms. This has often led to the daunting task of manually recreating playlists, a time-consuming and tedious process. However, a recent development has brought a sigh of relief to many. Apple has finally introduced a native feature that allows users to effortlessly migrate their playlists to YouTube Music.
How does it work?
The process is relatively straightforward. Apple Music subscribers with an active account can visit the Data and Privacy page (privacy.apple.com) and select the option to “Transfer a copy of your data.” From there, they can choose YouTube Music as the destination for their playlists. It’s important to note that only songs available on YouTube Music can be transferred, so any exclusive tracks or podcasts won’t make the move.
While this new feature is a significant step in the right direction, it’s not a complete solution. Apple Music still doesn’t offer native tools for transferring playlists to other popular streaming services like Spotify or Amazon Music. For those who want to migrate their playlists to these platforms, they’ll need to rely on third-party tools.
