Walmart just dropped an incredible price on the 13-inch M1 MacBook Air. Right now, you can snag this powerful laptop for just $649, making it the cheapest price ever offered for this model.

  • The deal: The 13-inch M1 MacBook Air is now $649 at Walmart.com and select stores across the U.S.
  • How long will it last? Unfortunately, Walmart hasn’t revealed how long this rock-bottom price will be available, so act fast if you’re interested.

This is a massive price cut from the original starting price of $999 for this model. It’s also a step down from the $699 price Walmart first offered back in March when they began selling Macs directly for the first time.

The MacBook Air on sale boasts the M1 chip, a significant upgrade over previous Intel-powered MacBooks. This translates to better performance, faster speeds, and improved battery life. The specific configuration on sale includes 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, with a choice of Gold, Silver, or Space Gray finishes. And here’s the best part: Walmart assures buyers this is a brand new product, not a used or refurbished model.

A few things to consider:

While this price tag is undeniably tempting, there are a couple of things to keep in mind before you hit “add to cart.”

  • Age: This specific MacBook Air model was first released in November 2020. That means it’s over three and a half years old at this point.
  • Design: The design of this MacBook Air is a bit dated compared to newer models.
  • Software compatibility: While still a capable machine, it might have a shorter lifespan for future macOS updates compared to the latest MacBook Air models.

If you’re a student on a tight budget or someone who needs a reliable laptop for basic tasks like browsing the web, streaming videos, and working on documents, this M1 MacBook Air at $649 is a fantastic deal. The performance boost from the M1 chip is undeniable, and you’re getting a brand new device. However, if you’re a power user or someone who craves the latest design and software compatibility, you might want to consider newer MacBook Air models, even if it means spending a bit more.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your individual needs and budget. However, at this price, the M1 MacBook Air is a back-to-school steal you won’t find anywhere else. So, if you’re interested, don’t hesitate, this deal might not last long!
