If you’re an iCloud Mail user, things are about to get a lot easier with iOS 18. Apple has packed its latest operating system update with over 250 new features, and among them are some exciting upgrades for managing your email.
Manage old emails
Have emails from years ago piling up? iOS 18 is adding time-based rules to iCloud Mail that can automatically clear out the clutter. These rules will allow you to remove emails you don’t need anymore, saving space in your account. Using the new Mail categories, you can set up actions to archive or delete emails you haven’t touched in ages—like that 2-year-old promo sitting unread in your inbox. Just set the parameters, and your inbox will take care of the rest.
Unsubscribe and delete
We’ve all been there: subscribing to a bunch of newsletters and then never getting around to reading them. Soon, iCloud Mail will offer a tool to help you unsubscribe from multiple senders at once. You can say goodbye to clutter in just a few taps, as this feature will let you bulk-unsubscribe and send any future emails from those senders straight to the Trash.
iCloud Mail cleanup
Keeping your inbox organized can be a real headache, especially if you’ve been using the same email account for years. But with iOS 18, Apple is introducing a set of powerful cleanup tools that will make tidying up your inbox a breeze. You’ll be able to access these features from the Mail app, through iCloud.com, or in iCloud Mail settings. It’s designed to help you stay on top of your email management, without spending hours doing it manually.
When can you expect these updates?
iOS 18 is set to be released on Monday, September 16, but if you’re excited about the new iCloud Mail features, you might have to hold off a little longer. Some of these updates, like the Mail cleanup tools, may roll out later in subsequent iOS 18 updates. So, keep an eye on your device for more details as Apple continues to enhance iCloud Mail.
