Apple has added its latest iMac desktop computer model, featuring the speedy new M3 chip, to its offerings of refurbished and discounted products in the U.S.

The tech giant quietly introduced certified refurbished configurations of the redesigned iMac on Wednesday, marking the first time the slimmed-down, color-rich all-in-one computer has been available this way since its launch last October.

As with all of Apple’s refurbished products, the M3 iMac models are thoroughly inspected, tested and cleaned by the company’s technicians and come with a full one-year warranty. Discounts run approximately 15 percent less than the equivalent brand-new versions.

The refurbished lineup includes a range of storage sizes and color options with prices starting at $1,099. All the usual accessories are bundled as well, including Apple’s Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse and power adapter. Additional coverage can be added through AppleCare+ plans.

Analysts view Apple’s refurbished products as virtually indistinguishable from brand-new models, making them a smart buy for savvy customers. Even deeper discounts can sometimes be found through authorized resellers.

This week’s addition of the M3 iMac follows previous refurbished offerings of MacBook Pro models with the M3 and other latest-generation processors. It’s part of an expanding effort by Apple to open up its fastest machines to more budget-conscious buyers.
