Black Friday 2023 is proving to be a boon for those in the market for a new MacBook laptop. Major retailers are offering significant discounts on various models of Apple’s sleek, powerful, and popular notebooks. Whether you’re looking for an entry-level machine or a more robust pro-level device, you can likely find the MacBook you want for hundreds less this shopping season.

Most affordable: MacBook Air

Apple recently refreshed its baseline MacBook Air line with the fastest M2 chip. The thin, lightweight, and fanless design makes the Air appealing for students and general home use. Both the 13-inch and newly released 15-inch models are seeing major price cuts, with some configs available for as little as $750. That’s $250 off Apple’s MSRP and an unbeatable value.

  • M1 MacBook Air (2020) — $750 at Amazon, was $999
  • M2 MacBook Air 13″ (2022) — $949 at Best Buy, was $1,099
  • M2 MacBook Air 15″ (2023) — $1,049 at Amazon, was $1,299

Moving up: 14-inch MacBook Pro

Stepping up to the MacBook Pro line brings boosts in performance and connectivity. The 14-inch size strikes a nice balance between portability and screen real estate. Amazon and other retailers have dropped prices on the new M3-powered 2023 model by $150, now starting at $1,449.

  • M3 MacBook Pro 14″ (2023) — $1,449 at Amazon, was $1,599

Top of the line: 16-inch MacBook Pro

Creative professionals who demand maximum power should look to the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The spacious Retina display provides ample room for editing photos, videos, and graphics. For Black Friday, the M3 Pro MacBook Pro 16-inch sees a $200 discount, cutting the price to a more affordable $2,299.

  • M3 Pro MacBook Pro 16″ (2023) — $2,299 at Amazon, was $2,499

Across the board, Apple’s new MacBook lineup exclusively uses their proprietary M-series silicon. So even baseline models have excellent performance compared to predecessors. Unless you are doing intensive creative work, spending extra on the Pro models may not be necessary. The MacBook Air line should satisfy most people’s needs for a speedy, reliable laptop.

Of course, Black Friday deals won’t last for long. Once Cyber Monday arrives on November 27th, prices will likely go back up. Take advantage of these savings while you still can if you are hoping to get a new MacBook. An Apple laptop discount this generous is quite rare.
