Apple just dropped some fresh new color options for its AirPods Max, and honestly, they’re looking pretty sharp. But if you’re already rocking a pair of the original AirPods Max and wondering if you should swap them out just to stay trendy, I’ve got some good news for you: you don’t have to.

While the new AirPods Max comes with a USB-C port (goodbye, Lightning!), Apple is also rolling out replacement ear cushions in new colorways that fit perfectly with your original pair. So, even if you’re still on the Lightning version, you can give your headphones a stylish refresh without dropping a fortune on a new set.

MacRumors recently spotted this update, and the ear cushions are already available on Apple’s online store for $69 a pair. You can pick them up in blue, orange, purple, midnight, or starlight, and if you order right now, they’ll likely show up on your doorstep tomorrow. Meanwhile, the updated USB-C AirPods Max are up for preorder now but won’t be shipping until September 20th.

Of course, if you’re into the classic look, Apple’s still offering replacement cushions in the original colors: green, silver, black, sky blue, and red. But if you’re itching to try something new, these fresh shades give you the chance to mix it up without jumping into the USB-C era just yet.

Now, a quick heads-up: while you can still snag those replacement cushions for the Lightning model, it looks like Apple is quietly phasing out the actual Lightning version of the AirPods Max. The only way to get your hands on a new set through Apple is by opting for the USB-C version, which comes in five updated colorways.

So, if you’ve been eyeing that midnight or purple vibe but don’t feel like ditching your old headphones just yet, a new set of ear cushions might be all you need for that fresh look.
