For those enamored with the prospects of the Amazon Kindle Scribe, your patience has paid off. Amazon’s Black Friday sale is officially underway and the retail giant has slashed 29% off the price of its premium e-reader.

Usually carrying a $340 price tag, the base 16GB Kindle Scribe is now available for just $240. This is far and away the steepest discount we’ve seen on this device outside of Prime Day in October 2023. Even better, Amazon is offering the same $100 discount on Kindle Scribe bundles that include a 3-month subscription to Kindle Unlimited.

Higher storage models have also received compelling price cuts. The 32GB version now goes for $280 (normally $390) and the 64GB version for $305 (was $420). Both bundles come with Amazon’s Premium Pen at no extra cost. Note: The 16GB model only includes the Basic Pen in its bundle, but you can upgrade to the Premium Pen for an extra $25.

The Kindle Scribe justified its lofty launch price by providing features not found elsewhere in Amazon’s Kindle lineup or competing e-readers. Chief among them is the expansive 10.2” touchscreen display, which makes reading feel more immersive and natural. The high 300 ppi pixel density and 35 front-facing LEDs also contribute to superior visual clarity in any lighting environment.

Yet the Scribe doesn’t simply excel at displaying books and documents. Its standout functionality revolves around handwriting notes via the included Basic or Premium Pen. Scribble down thoughts in the margins, highlight resonant passages, or doodle to your heart’s content. For creative types or avid notetakers, it’s a game-changer.

Annotating and journaling on the Kindle Scribe takes the reading experience to another level. But the device also facilitates connecting with others by allowing you to export notes for broader sharing. Email passages to a friend for discussion or save your impressions to revisit years later.

At its newly discounted price, the Kindle Scribe is arguably the most versatile e-reader out there. So if you’re looking for more than just a digital way to consume books, now’s the perfect time to take advantage of Amazon’s pre-Black Friday deal.
