Amazon has dropped the price of its Fire TV Stick 4K Select to $17.99, matching one of the lowest prices we’ve seen for the streaming device. The deal cuts 64% off the listed $49.99 price, making it an affordable way to add 4K streaming to an older TV or upgrade from an HD streaming stick.

The discounted price is available directly from Amazon as part of a limited-time deal, with no Prime membership required to get the sale price. Prime members may receive faster shipping, but the $17.99 price is available to all shoppers at the time of writing.

Unlike Amazon’s more expensive streaming devices, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select focuses on the essentials. It supports 4K Ultra HD streaming, along with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos (on compatible TVs and audio systems). It also includes Wi-Fi 6 support for improved wireless performance on supported networks.

Amazon has also integrated its latest Alexa-powered features into the device. The included Alexa Voice Remote lets users search for movies, TV shows, and apps using voice commands, while AI-powered search is designed to help surface content more quickly across supported streaming services.

The Fire TV platform provides access to popular streaming apps including Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, YouTube, Apple TV, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount+, and many others. Amazon also includes access to free streaming options and live TV services through supported apps.

One thing buyers should note is that the Fire TV Stick 4K Select is designed around Amazon’s ecosystem. The device currently prevents sideloading or installing apps from unknown sources, limiting downloads to apps available through the Amazon Appstore. That restriction may matter to users who prefer more open Android TV-based streaming devices.

At $17.99, however, those trade-offs are easier to overlook. For anyone looking for an inexpensive way to stream 4K content, upgrade an older television, or add Alexa voice controls to their entertainment setup, this is one of the strongest Fire TV deals available ahead of Prime Big Deal Days.
