Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for its upcoming comedy series “Acapulco” starring Eugenio Derbez, who also executive produces which will make its global debut on Friday, October 8th, 2021 on Apple TV+.

Arrizon, Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Chord Overstreet, Vanessa Bauche, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, Rafael Cebrián, Regina Orozco, and Carlos Corona are among the supporting cast members.

“Acapulco” follows the story of Máximo Gallardo (Enrique Arrizon), a 20-year-old man who lands the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at Acapulco’s hottest resort. He quickly discovers that the work is significantly more difficult than he anticipated and that in order to succeed, he must learn to negotiate a demanding clientele, a temperamental mentor, and a complicated personal life without succumbing to shortcuts or temptations. Derbez, who plays the present-day version of the main character, Máximo Gallardo, narrates the 1984 series.

“Acapulco” is based on the box office success “How to Be A Latin Lover” from 3Pas Studios and Pantelion Films, and is produced for Apple by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios, and The Tannenbaum Company.

Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros, and Jason Shuman conceived the project, and Winsberg also acts as showrunner alongside Chris Harris. Executive producers on the film are Winsberg, Cisneros, Shuman, and Harris.

The pilot is directed and executive produced by Richard Shepard, with Jay Karas serving as an executive producer and director.

In addition to starring, Derbez works as executive producer for 3Pas Studios alongside Ben Odell and co-producer Sonia Gambaro. On behalf of The Tannenbaum Company, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum executive produce, and Jason Wang co-executive produces.
