RØDE‘s latest release, the Wireless Micro, is the brand’s smallest and simplest wireless microphone kit to date, purpose-built for smartphone content creators. This ultra-compact mic system includes two lightweight transmitters (mics) and a receiver, all fitting snugly into a charging case that’s as portable as a phone itself. With each mic weighing only 12 grams, this kit is designed to be a discrete, easy-to-use solution for creators on the move.

The Wireless Micro’s design prioritizes portability and audio clarity, targeting content creators looking to upgrade from standard phone audio without the hassle of cables. The system connects directly to smartphones via a choice of USB-C or Lightning ports, supporting both Android and iPhone devices. After a quick plug-and-play setup, users can begin recording high-quality audio with RØDE’s Intelligent GainAssist feature, which automatically adjusts audio levels for balanced sound even in dynamic environments.

One notable feature of the Wireless Micro is its acoustic chamber design, which helps reduce wind noise, and an additional set of furry windshields is included for outdoor use. While compact, the Wireless Micro doesn’t sacrifice on performance: it boasts a transmission range of up to 100 meters and an impressive battery life of seven hours per mic, extendable to 21 hours with the included charging case. Additionally, the system’s omnidirectional microphone pattern and magnetic clip attachment make it versatile and suitable for hands-free recording.

This dual-mic kit also supports RØDE’s free Capture app, which offers advanced audio monitoring and split/merged audio modes, though users can easily record with other popular video and camera apps as well. Available in black or white, and priced at $149, the Wireless Micro is geared toward anyone from solo vloggers to podcasters and interviewers looking for a sleek, effective audio solution that pairs well with a smartphone.
