Astropad has just launched its latest accessory, the Bookcase, aimed at transforming any smartphone, especially the iPhone, into a more comfortable e-reader. This accessory is designed to improve ergonomics during long reading sessions, adding handles to a smartphone for a better grip while ensuring that the device’s display remains fully visible.

For modern iPhones, the Bookcase attaches magnetically through MagSafe, starting with the iPhone 12 and newer models. Users with older iPhones or Android devices aren’t left out, as Astropad includes a magnetic conversion kit for broader compatibility. One standout feature of the Bookcase is its use of an embedded NFC chip. When the phone is placed into the holder, it can automatically open a pre-set reading app, turning any idle moment into a reading opportunity. This functionality can be customized through a companion app, streamlining access to your favorite reading material without the need to juggle devices or dig through menus.

Astropad positions the Bookcase as an affordable alternative to dedicated e-readers like Kindle. With the versatility of modern smartphones and apps like Apple Books or Kindle, this accessory taps into an already familiar platform, making it easy for users to enjoy e-books on the go without buying another device. For those who spend time commuting or enjoy reading during breaks, this accessory offers a more streamlined, compact solution.

The Bookcase is currently available on Astropad’s website at a limited-time discounted price of $39.99, down from its usual $49.99. Shipping is expected to start in about six weeks, and the product boasts a premium build with vegan leather and a sturdy polycarbonate frame, promising durability and comfort during reading sessions.
