Samsung is using IFA 2026 to push its Bespoke AI laundry lineup in two different directions: dramatically lower energy consumption and significantly more washing capacity without demanding more space. The company has unveiled two new Bespoke AI Washer models, including a 10kg machine targeting A-70% energy efficiency and a 13kg model designed to fit within a standard 600mm depth.

The two washers are part of Samsung’s latest home appliance showcase at IFA 2026 in Berlin, where the company is highlighting how AI, engineering and space-efficient designs can change the way everyday laundry is handled. Samsung says both models are development-stage display products, meaning final specifications and commercial availability may vary by market.

Samsung pushes energy efficiency to A-70%

The headline-grabbing model is the new 10kg Bespoke AI Washer, which Samsung says is designed to achieve A-70% energy efficiency. That means the washer is engineered to use up to 70% less energy than the minimum requirement for a Class A rating for a 10kg washer in Europe.

According to Samsung’s internal testing, the development model achieves an Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) of 15.5, corresponding to energy consumption of 15.3kWh per 100 cycles using the Eco 40–60 program. Samsung says that represents up to 70.2% greater energy efficiency than the Class A threshold of EEI 52 for 10kg models under European regulations. Final testing is still required before EPREL registration.

The efficiency milestone also comes with a capacity increase. Samsung is moving from the 9kg capacity of its previous A-65% model to 10kg, allowing the new washer to handle larger loads while simultaneously targeting lower electricity consumption.

Samsung attributes the improvement to changes across several parts of the machine, including motor efficiency, thermal management and wash-cycle design. Rather than relying on a single feature, the company has combined these engineering changes to reduce energy consumption while maintaining cleaning performance.

The A-70% washer continues a progression Samsung began with its A-55% Bespoke AI Washer at IFA 2024 and followed with the A-65% model at IFA 2025. The latest machine effectively turns that annual efficiency push into another step forward.

A 13kg washer that stays 600mm deep

Samsung’s second new model takes a different approach, targeting consumers who need more capacity but don’t necessarily have more room for a larger appliance.

The new Bespoke AI Washer offers a 13kg capacity while maintaining a standard European design depth of 600mm. Samsung says its SpaceMax technology creates additional room inside the appliance, allowing the company to fit a larger drum without increasing the washer’s external dimensions.

That makes the machine particularly suited to larger household loads, bedding and other bulky items. Its 24-inch form factor is designed to work within common European kitchen, utility-room and furniture configurations, despite offering considerably more internal capacity.

The exterior follows Samsung’s increasingly minimalist approach to home appliances. A mono-body construction creates a unified appearance, while a slim front frame and refined finishes give the washer a cleaner look intended to blend into modern interiors.

There’s also a large touchscreen built into the front of the appliance around the detergent compartment. The display provides access to washing-cycle controls and connected features, while SmartThings brings Samsung’s connected-home functionality into the laundry experience. SmartThings requires a compatible Android or iOS device, Wi-Fi and a Samsung account.

Both washers automatically ventilate after a cycle

Samsung is also bringing its Auto Open Door feature to both new models. After a wash finishes, the door gradually opens to allow residual moisture to escape from the drum.

The idea is fairly simple but useful: instead of leaving a closed, damp environment inside the washer after every cycle, the appliance automatically provides ventilation. Samsung says this helps keep the interior fresher between washes.

The feature fits into a broader strategy Samsung has been pursuing with its Bespoke AI appliances. Earlier this year, the company expanded its Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer lineup with larger capacities, AI-enhanced fabric care, touchscreen controls and SmartThings connectivity, with models ranging from 10.5kg to 13kg depending on the market.

The new IFA models take that strategy a step further by focusing on two of the biggest practical concerns with washing machines: how much energy they consume and how much laundry they can handle.

Samsung’s A-70% and 13kg Bespoke AI Washers are currently showcase products rather than confirmed retail launches. The company says the models displayed at IFA 2026 are still in development, with specifications subject to change and commercial availability yet to be determined.

Still, the direction is clear. Samsung is trying to make washing machines more efficient without sacrificing capacity, while using AI, connected controls and clever internal engineering to make increasingly large appliances fit into familiar spaces.
