On April Fools’ Day, Twitter posted a tweet on its official account saying “we working on an edit button,” eliciting both laughter and emotions at the announcement of the long-awaited feature.

“We cannot confirm or deny but we may edit our statement later,” Twitter replied in response when asked if the tweet was a joke.

It was welcomed positively by some commentators. Some thought it was funny. Others, though, did not. Dictionary.com’s verified account responded on Twitter to the “Definition of Unfunny.”
