Elon Musk has revealed the Tesla Cybercab, an autonomous electric vehicle designed specifically for the long-awaited robotaxi fleet. Tesla‘s latest creation is a two-seater with no steering wheel or pedals, signaling a bold leap towards fully self-driving transportation. It features futuristic butterfly doors and wireless induction charging, eliminating the need for plugs. While Musk has been known for optimistic timelines, he predicts that production could begin as early as 2026.
Musk emphasizes that autonomous cars could dramatically reduce accident rates, making this launch a potential game-changer. He envisions operational costs for the Cybercab to be as low as $0.20 per mile, significantly cheaper than traditional public transit. Tesla’s Full Self-Driving technology will power the vehicle, which is expected to launch initially in California and Texas.

While skepticism around Musk’s ambitious deadlines persists—given previous delays with Tesla’s autonomous driving features—this announcement highlights the company’s continued push toward a future of fully autonomous transportation.
