Netflix today officially confirmed that Stranger Things season 5 will debut in 2025, marking the end of the beloved series. While a precise premiere date remains under wraps, the streaming giant shared an exciting update: the titles of all eight episodes in the final season. These titles not only tease plot elements but also nod to key moments from earlier seasons, giving fans plenty to speculate about as they await the grand conclusion.
The episode titles for season 5 are as follows:
- Episode 1 — The Crawl
- Episode 2 — The Vanishing of…
- Episode 3 — The Turnbow Trap
- Episode 4 — Sorcerer
- Episode 5 — Shock Jock
- Episode 6 — Escape from Camazotz
- Episode 7 — The Bridge
- Episode 8 — The Rightside Up
While some titles are straightforward, others, like The Vanishing of…, leave much to the imagination. This title likely references the series’ opening episode, The Vanishing of Will Byers, hinting at another character who may face a similar fate. Meanwhile, Escape from Camazotz draws from both ancient Mayan mythology and A Wrinkle in Time, where the dark realm is home to bat-like creatures — potentially a nod to the Demobats that terrorized Hawkins in previous seasons.
Notably, The Bridge and The Rightside Up seem to point toward the series coming full circle. The latter title could mirror the first season’s finale, The Upside Down, possibly signaling a moment of reconciliation between the parallel worlds. As for The Turnbow Trap and Shock Jock, there’s more mystery to unravel, but these could involve fan-favorite characters like Dustin and Steve, always at the heart of the action.
Season 5 is expected to take place in 1987, three years after season 4, which ended in March 1986. Fans can look forward to seeing how the characters have evolved in that time, though there will likely be a substantial jump forward as we head toward the end.
Given that the show has always been filled with twists and emotional moments, the cast and crew have hinted that the final episode will be one that leaves fans teary-eyed. Actor David Harbour even shared that reading through the script had the cast “uncontrollably crying.” It’s safe to say that season 5 will offer a thrilling and emotional conclusion to this pop culture phenomenon.
Keep an eye out for more updates on the show’s release, including whether the episodes will drop all at once or be split into two volumes, as was the case with season 4. Fans of Stranger Things certainly have a lot to look forward to in 2025.
