Bethesda’s upcoming space-themed action role-playing game, Starfield, is generating excitement among gamers worldwide. As with most major AAA releases, Starfield will offer pre-order bonuses and special editions to enhance the gaming experience. Additionally, following the trend set by other Xbox first-party releases, the base game will be available on the day of release as part of the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass subscription.
During the 45-minute Starfield Direct event that immediately followed the June 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, players were treated to an in-depth look at this highly anticipated title. The event revealed captivating details about Starfield‘s world, story, and gameplay elements. Set in The Settled Systems, an area located approximately 50 light-years away from the Solar System, the game revolves around the Colony War conflict. Players will have the opportunity to fully customize their characters and embark on exploration missions using The Frontier, a completely buildable ship. The bonus perks offered in Starfield emphasize the extensive customization options, featuring a variety of in-game item skins across all editions.
Starfield Standard Edition

- Starfield Standard Edition ($69.99) — Xbox Store / Amazon / Best Buy / GameStop / Walmart
Anyone who pre-orders Starfield Standard Edition in either digital or physical form will receive the “Old Mars Skin Pack.” This collection of in-game bonus skins alters the appearance of the Laser Cutter, Deep Mining Helmet, and Deep Mining Pack, giving them a striking deep red and light grey color scheme. Except for the Standard Edition, all pre-orders of Starfield will also grant up to 5 days of early access, allowing players to dive into the base game on September 1st, ahead of the official release on September 6.
Starfield Digital Premium Edition

- Starfield Digital Premium Edition ($99.99) — Xbox Store
The Digital Premium Edition includes a digital copy of the base game, along with a new story expansion called “Shattered Space.” This expansion will be available to players on the game’s release day, with hopes of it achieving the same level of acclaim as Bethesda’s other well-received story expansions, such as Fallout 3‘s “The Pit” and Oblivion‘s “The Shivering Isles.” Additionally, this edition features the Constellation skin pack, which players can apply to their Equinox Laser Rifle, spacesuit, helmet, and boost pack.
Moreover, purchasers of the Digital Premium Edition will receive a digital Starfield artbook containing early concept art of the game. The edition also includes the original soundtrack by the award-winning composer Inon Zur, known for his work on renowned game franchises like Fallout, Dragon Age, and Prince of Persia. Players who initially purchase the digital Standard Edition can upgrade to the Premium Edition at a later date to access these additional digital goodies.
Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade

- Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade ($34.99) — Xbox Store / Amazon / Best Buy / GameStop / Walmart
Physical media purchasers of Starfield‘s Standard Edition need not worry about missing out on the Premium Edition’s content, as they can upgrade to it. In addition to the digital content mentioned earlier, the physical Premium Edition upgrade comes with a Steelbook display case and a Constellation patch. This upgrade can be purchased from the Microsoft and Xbox storefronts, as well as participating retailers (check the above links).
Starfield Constellation Edition

Designed for the most devoted fans, the Constellation Edition carries a hefty price tag of approximately $299.99. It includes all the physical and digital content found in the other Premium versions but with a unique selling point—a fully-functional smartwatch. This smartwatch can synchronize with the player’s phone and display the total number of hours spent playing this massive space title.
The UK prop company, The Wand Company, has designed the Constellation Edition’s watch to resemble the LPV6 Chronomark Smartwatch featured in the game. It comes in a protective case with an intricately designed locking mechanism, mirroring the one used by characters in the Constellation organization. This organization consists of space explorers committed to unraveling the mysteries of the galaxy.
It’s worth noting that, like several modern Collector’s editions, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Starfield‘s Constellation Edition only includes a digital copy of the game, despite providing physical perks like the Steelbook display case. While this practice has sparked controversy among collectors, Starfield has turned it into an advantage by including a physical Credit Stick replica with the game code laser-etched onto it, rather than a standard disc.
As an Xbox exclusive, Starfield is poised to become one of the biggest games of 2023, blending elements from Bethesda’s iconic RPG series like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, with the expansive space exploration of titles like No Man’s Sky and the branching storytelling of Mass Effect. With the range of editions available, Xbox and PC players have much to anticipate when this highly-anticipated game launches on September 6.
And to top it off, we have something special for Starfield fans, high-quality wallpapers inspired by the game. Whether you want to adorn your mobile or desktop screens, these wallpapers range from HD to 5K resolution, ensuring a stunning visual experience. Download here.
