There have been rumors for years that Sonos is planning to enter the wireless headphone market. Finally, a product listing from one of its authorized dealers has given us a glimpse into the details of the highly anticipated device. Although there has been no official announcement from the audio giant, the leaked information has given us some insight into what we can expect.
According to leaked information and images from Dutch retailer Schuurman, Sonos’ upcoming wireless headphones will officially be called the “Sonos Ace.” The images, although low-quality, reveal a sleek over-ear design with buttons and a toggle switch on the earpieces.

The package, listed for €403.58 (approximately $435), includes the headphones, some wires, and a carrying case. This price point aligns with a previous report from Bloomberg, which pegged the Ace’s cost at $449.

The launch of the Sonos Ace marks a significant milestone for the company, known for its popular speakers and sound bars. As reported by Bloomberg in February, the wireless headphones were initially slated for a May release but faced a software-related delay, pushing the launch to June.
Sonos CEO Patrick Spence is banking on the Ace to reignite growth for the company after years of sluggish sales. The headphones are designed to seamlessly integrate with Sonos’ existing ecosystem, allowing users to stream audio directly from TVs and music services via built-in Wi-Fi.
While Sonos has established itself as a leader in the home audio space, the wireless headphone market is a different battleground. The Ace will face stiff competition from industry heavyweights like Apple‘s AirPods and other popular in-ear models.
Interestingly, Bloomberg‘s report also hinted at Sonos exploring an in-ear variant to compete more directly with Apple and others in the future.
Despite the challenges, the Sonos Ace holds tremendous promise for audiophiles and tech enthusiasts alike. With Sonos’ reputation for delivering exceptional sound quality, the Ace could potentially redefine the wireless headphone experience.
