A new kind of speaker is hitting the market, blurring the line between audio equipment and home decor. Samsung‘s Music Frame unveiled at CES 2024, is now available for pre-order in the United States, offering music lovers a fresh way to integrate high-quality sound into their living spaces.

The dual-purpose design

At first glance, the Music Frame resembles a sleek picture frame, designed to seamlessly blend into any room’s aesthetic. However, this unassuming facade belies its true purpose – delivering an immersive audio experience. The speaker’s unique dual-mode functionality allows it to operate independently or as a supporting speaker for Samsung’s line of lifestyle TVs, including The Frame and The Serif.

Priced at $399.99, the Music Frame comes in a standard white color, but Samsung has made it easy for users to customize the bezels, much like they can with The Frame TV. This level of personalization ensures the speaker can effortlessly complement any existing decor. Furthermore, the Music Frame features a photo holder, enabling users to attach a square printed photo and transform the speaker into a stylish piece of wall art when not in use.

Powerful audio, intelligent calibration

Despite its compact size, the Music Frame packs a serious audio punch. It boasts six speakers – two tweeters, two mid-range drivers, and two woofers – with a total audio output of 120W RMS. The woofers are positioned backward, while the tweeters and mid-range drivers face forward, ensuring an immersive sound experience. Users can choose to place the speaker on a table or mount it on a wall, and Samsung’s SpaceFit Sound technology will calibrate the audio according to the room’s dimensions.

Expansive connectivity and compatibility

The Music Frame is designed to be the centerpiece of a modern home entertainment system. When paired with a Samsung TV and soundbar, it leverages Q-Symphony 3.0 technology to create an expansive, cinema-like audio experience. It supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, and Hi-Res Audio, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of content formats.

Additionally, the speaker boasts an impressive array of connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 5, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect. It also features built-in support for voice assistants like Alexa and Bixby, allowing users to control their audio experience hands-free. The SmartThings app further simplifies device management and control.

With the Music Frame, Samsung has successfully blended form and function, offering a speaker that not only delivers exceptional audio quality but also serves as a stylish addition to any modern living space. As consumers increasingly seek to integrate technology seamlessly into their homes, the Music Frame represents a compelling solution that marries cutting-edge audio technology with a design-forward approach.

Pre-orders for the Music Frame are now open on Samsung’s website, with deliveries expected to begin on April 1, 2024.
