As the countdown continues towards Samsung‘s annual summer Galaxy Unpacked event, leaks surrounding the hotly anticipated Galaxy Watch7 lineup are beginning to intensify. While details remain scarce, a new listing in the official Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) database appears to confirm key specifications of the forthcoming smartwatch.
The Bluetooth SIG, an industry group that oversees and certifies devices utilizing Bluetooth technology, has published an entry for a “Samsung Smart Wearable (Smart Watch)” bearing the model number SM-L305U. This alphanumeric designation aligns with previous reports from the rumor mill, lending credence to the listing’s validity as a reference to the Galaxy Watch7.

Late last month, a substantial leak surfaced, purportedly unveiling the model numbers assigned to Samsung’s next-generation smartwatch offerings. Among the details, the leak suggested that models SM-L300 and SM-L305 would correspond to one variant, while SM-L310 and SM-L315 represented another. Furthermore, the premium tier was tipped to carry the model numbers SM-L700 and SM-L705. The newly uncovered Bluetooth SIG entry, specifically highlighting the SM-L305U, substantiates these earlier claims.
Beyond confirming the model number, the listing discloses that the Galaxy Watch7 will boast Bluetooth 5.3 support, maintaining parity with its predecessors in the Galaxy Watch lineup. However, the Bluetooth certification database seldom divulges comprehensive hardware specifications, leaving many of the smartwatch’s highly anticipated features shrouded in mystery.
Rumors have swirled that Samsung may be exploring a departure from its traditional circular watch design, potentially opting for a rectangular form factor akin to the Apple Watch. Nevertheless, trusted analysts suggest such a radical overhaul is improbable for this year’s iteration. A more realistic upgrade could manifest as an increase in onboard storage capacity, with the Galaxy Watch7 purportedly set to double its predecessor’s offering to a generous 32GB.
Another persistent speculation points towards Samsung expanding the Galaxy Watch7 range to encompass three distinct models this year, deviating from the two-model strategy employed in previous generations. This strategic shift could allow the tech behemoth to cater to a wider spectrum of consumer preferences and budgets.
