Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphones yesterday, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24+, and S24. While the physical design remains largely unchanged from last year’s models, Samsung packed the new phones full of AI-powered software features to enhance photography, productivity, and more.

For Samsung loyalists ready to upgrade, here’s what you need to know about pre-ordering the highly-anticipated Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 Ultra ups the AI ante

The Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,299.99 and is available for pre-order now through January 30th. Those who pre-order directly from Samsung can snag a free storage upgrade to the 1TB model when purchasing the 512GB version. Samsung is also offering $100 of store credit for pre-orders.

Meanwhile, pre-ordering via Amazon fetches a $200 Amazon credit to sweeten the deal.

Under the hood, the S24 Ultra runs on the newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with up to 12GB RAM and that aforementioned 1TB storage option. It sports a vibrant, 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ (1440 x 3088) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

While the physical design stays true to Samsung’s recent Galaxy aesthetics, new titanium framing provides added durability. The screen is also slightly brighter than last year’s model.

However, the biggest changes lie in the advanced AI software and cameras.

A new “Circle to Search” feature lets users circle or highlight text and images on the screen to instantly search and learn more details. AI summarization tools condense notes and webpages down to key facts. There’s even a tone checker for writing emails.

On the camera front, a boosted 50MP telephoto lens enables 5x optical zoom. AI powers features like object erase, one-tap remastering of images and video, and instant slow-motion effects.

Preorder bonuses for Galaxy S24 and S24+ too

The more affordable Galaxy S24 and S24+ are also open for pre-order today, starting at $799.99 and $999.99 respectively. Those who pre-order through Samsung can likewise score free storage upgrades. Samsung offers $100 in credit for direct pre-orders, while Amazon provides up to $150 in Amazon credit.

Both phones carry the same AI software upgrades as the S24 Ultra, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The S24+ gets a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ (1440 x 3088) screen over the S24’s 6.2-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2340) display. cameras are also identical across the lineup, with all major lenses getting 50MP upgrades this year.
