Samsung has finally decided to bring its cost-effective yet feature-rich devices, the Galaxy Fit3 and the Galaxy A16 5G, to the United States. Both gadgets, launched initially in various markets around the globe, are now set to hit U.S. shelves starting January 9th, 2025, offering consumers a blend of functionality and affordability.

Galaxy Fit3

The Galaxy Fit3, priced at a wallet-friendly $59.99, marks Samsung’s latest venture into the fitness tracker arena. First introduced internationally in February last year, this device has already garnered a reputation for delivering premium features without the premium price tag.

This fitness tracker sports a 1.6-inch AMOLED display housed in an aluminum body, which not only looks sleek but also promises durability. One of its standout features is its battery life, boasting up to 13 days on a single charge, which is a significant advantage for those who detest daily charging routines.

The image shows three Samsung Galaxy Fit3 fitness tracking smartwatches in different colors: black, pink, and white. Each smartwatch displays different information on its screen. The black smartwatch shows sleep stages with a graph and time spent in each stage (Awake, REM, Light, Deep). The pink smartwatch displays the number of steps (3457), the date (SAT 28), and the time (10:08). The white smartwatch shows a heart rate monitor with a colorful heart graphic, the date (SAT 28), and the time (10:08). The smartwatches have rectangular screens and are shown from a side angle, highlighting their sleek design and straps.

In terms of health monitoring, the Galaxy Fit3 doesn’t skimp. It offers comprehensive tracking similar to what you’d find on Samsung’s more expensive Galaxy Watch7. It can monitor your sleep, detect snoring, measure blood oxygen levels, and keep an eye on your heart rate. With the capability to track over 100 types of workouts, it’s designed to cater to a wide range of fitness activities, from yoga to high-intensity interval training. The tracker comes in aesthetic color options including gray, silver, and pink gold, ensuring it fits into your style as well as your fitness regime.

Galaxy A16 5G

Complementing the fitness tracker, Samsung is rolling out the Galaxy A16 5G, a smartphone that aims to bring high-quality features to the budget-conscious consumer. Priced at $199.99, the A16 5G offers a 6.7-inch Full HD Plus OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, providing smooth visuals whether you’re scrolling through social media or watching videos.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the Exynos 1330 processor, which manages to balance performance with power efficiency. Photography enthusiasts on a budget will appreciate its camera setup: a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens, offering versatility for various photography needs. Like the Fit3, the A16 5G comes in matching color variants of gray, silver, and pink gold, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic for those looking to pair the devices.

The front of the phone has a 13MP front camera. The phone is shown in a dark color with a sleek design.

Both the Galaxy Fit3 and Galaxy A16 5G underscore Samsung’s strategy to democratize technology, making advanced features accessible to a broader audience. The Galaxy Fit3, in particular, could sway consumers away from more expensive fitness trackers by offering similar capabilities at a fraction of the cost. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A16 5G stands as a testament to the evolution of budget smartphones, providing 5G connectivity, a robust screen, and a capable camera system at a price point that doesn’t break the bank.
