Razer HyperFlux V2 wireless charging gaming mouse pad

If you’ve ever found your gaming session cut short by a dying mouse battery, Razer’s latest announcement might just be the cure. On June 3, 2025, the company unveiled the HyperFlux V2 Wireless Charging System—a mouse pad that not only delivers the buttery-smooth glide gamers crave but also pumps endless power into compatible Razer mice while you play. Think of it as a Powerplay rival that doesn’t lock you into a single mouse model.

Razer first flirted with on-pad charging back in 2018 with the original HyperFlux bundle, which paired a dedicated Mamba HyperFlux mouse—complete with a supercapacitor “puck” that held 5–10 seconds of charge off the pad—with a charging mat. This time around, Razer has opened the dance floor: the HyperFlux V2 works with four of its current high-end wireless mice—Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, Basilisk V3 Pro, Cobra Pro, and Naga V2 Pro—each of which accepts a tiny adapter puck that snaps into the mouse’s base and delivers continuous juice as long as it’s on the mat theverge.comrazer.com. The HyperFlux V2 comes in your choice of Hard Surface or Cloth Surface editions, both priced at $119.99. The Hard Surface Edition offers ultra-low friction for blister-fast flicks, while the Cloth Surface Edition—due later this year—promises more controlled, pixel-precise swipes for those who prefer dragging over gliding. Both pads feature a grooved rubber underside to stay anchored during the most intense sweeps.

Atop the mat sits a small LED strip that cycles through colors—green, yellow, orange—to indicate roughly 100%, 50%, or low battery, respectively. It’s a simple visual cue that keeps you in the game without opening software or hunting for a dock. Speaking of software, once you place a puck-equipped mouse on the pad, it auto-pairs via Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless dongle built into the mat. That same dongle can also host up to three HyperSpeed keyboards—such as the BlackWidow V3 Pro and DeathStalker V2 Pro—though only mice get the juice-over-pad treatment.

Logitech’s Powerplay system remains the benchmark: it delivers continuous wireless charging under any compatible Logitech mouse, leveraging a patented coil-in-coil design. Razer’s answer swaps supercapacitor tactics for straightforward battery-charge pucks, arguably a simpler and more universal approach within its own ecosystem.

If you’re already invested in Razer’s wireless peripherals, the HyperFlux V2 mat could be the missing piece for marathon gaming sessions. At $119.99, the mat alone undercuts many competing wireless-charging solutions, though you’ll need to factor in the cost of a compatible mouse if you don’t already own one. For pros and enthusiasts who prize both uninterrupted play and hyper-responsive tracking, Razer’s latest is a compelling, no-cable setup—so long as you’re ready to stay in the Razer camp.

The Hard Surface Edition is available now for $119.99, while the Cloth Surface Edition is slated for later this year. Mice pucks and firmware updates will be managed through Razer Synapse, ensuring you can tweak charge limits and pairing behaviors from one unified control panel.

Whether Razer’s second stab at on-pad charging finally elevates the concept into the mainstream remains to be seen—but for wireless warriors tired of battery anxiety, the HyperFlux V2 might just keep your aim sharp and your sessions endless.
