To mark the one-year anniversary of its launch, the Paramount Plus (formerly CBS All Access) streaming service is giving a significant discount, just in time for the premiere of Star Trek: Picard season two.
New and returning members can get the Essential Plan (with ads) for $1 per month for three months from now until March 7th. For the first three months, the ad-free Premier Plan is only $2 per month. Following the promotional time, the regular rates of $4.99/mo. for the Essential Plan and $9.99/mo. for the Premium Plan will apply after three months offer ends. Simply go to Paramountplus.com and enter the promo code BIRTHDAY at checkout to enjoy the offer.
The price reductions indicate that Paramount, which officially changed its name from ViacomCBS, is fully committed to direct-to-consumer streaming and is trying to grow its business. Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO Max (now rebranded to Max) are all competing for viewership against Paramount Plus.
Local CBS stations can also be streamed live across the United States for Paramount Plus Premium users. CBSN, a 24-hour news channel, CBS Sports HQ, a 24-hour sports news and analysis channel, and ET Live, a 24-hour entertainment station, are among the service’s live channels.
