It’s a sunny Saturday morning in a peaceful suburban neighborhood. Birds are chirping, lawns are being mowed, and kids are out riding bikes. Suddenly, a loud voice booms from a house on the corner: “Unidentified person detected on the premises! Leave immediately or you will be fired upon!”
Welcome to the future of home security – a future where your smart home doesn’t just watch intruders, but takes the law into its own hands with military-grade deterrents. Meet PaintCam Eve, the security camera that shoots first and…well, it just shoots.
PaintCam Eve is the brainchild of an ambitious team of Slovenian engineers who believe modern home security systems are too passive.
And by “immediate action,” they mean automatically firing paintball rounds or tear gas projectiles at any unfamiliar person entering the premises. Using AI-powered facial recognition, Eve identifies anyone it doesn’t recognize and issues audible trespassing warnings. If the person doesn’t promptly leave, Eve unleashes a volley of non-lethal ammunition right at their person.
The team is confident Eve’s targeting system is precise enough to deter intruders without inadvertently harming bystanders.
The system does allow homeowners to manually override automatic firing if a legitimate visitor gets misidentified. Owners can also add friends, family, and even pets to Eve’s “friendly” database to prevent accidental attacks.
