Oura Health, the company behind the popular Oura Ring, has just unveiled its latest iteration: the Oura Ring 4. This new model promises to be even more accurate, comfortable, and stylish than its predecessors. With a slimmer design, improved sensors, and a redesigned app, the Oura Ring 4 is poised to become the go-to sleep tracker for health-conscious individuals.

One of the most noticeable changes in the Oura Ring 4 is its physical appearance. The ring is now made entirely of titanium, giving it a more premium feel. The sensors have also been recessed, resulting in a flatter and more comfortable profile. This design change should make the ring less likely to irritate your finger, especially during extended wear.

Oura has also made significant improvements to the ring’s accuracy. The new algorithm used in the Oura Ring 4 is designed to better account for variations in finger size and position. This means that the ring can provide more reliable data, even if it shifts slightly on your finger throughout the day.

Specifically, Oura claims that the new algorithm improves signal quality by 120% and increases the accuracy of blood oxygen tracking by 30%. Additionally, the ring’s ability to track heart rate both day and night has been significantly enhanced.

Another improvement in the Oura Ring 4 is its battery life. Oura says that the new algorithm helps to extend battery life to up to eight days, depending on the size of the ring. This is a welcome change, as previous generations of the ring often required frequent charging.

Oura has also expanded the range of ring sizes available. The Oura Ring 4 is now available in sizes 4 to 15, making it more accessible to a wider range of people.

To complement the new hardware, Oura has also redesigned its companion app. The app now features a cleaner and more intuitive interface, with three main sections: Today, Vitals, and My Health. The Today tab provides a quick overview of your key metrics, while the Vitals and My Health tabs allow you to delve deeper into specific data points and trends.

In addition to the improvements mentioned above, the Oura Ring 4 also introduces several new features. These include automatic activity detection, improved daytime stress tracking, and fertility window predictions for people trying to conceive.

The Oura Ring 4 is priced at $349, which is a slight increase over the previous generation. However, given the improvements in accuracy, battery life, and design, the higher price may be justified for many users. The ring will be available for purchase starting October 15th.
