Nothing has unveiled the Phone 2A Plus, a successor to its popular Phone 2A model. Released just four months after its predecessor, the Plus iteration offers refined aesthetics and enhanced performance, albeit at a higher price point.
The core design remains consistent with the 2A, featuring a 6.7-inch OLED display and the distinctive Glyph Interface. Internal specifications, however, have undergone a notable upgrade. The new MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G chipset, exclusive to Nothing, promises a 10% improvement in CPU performance and a substantial 30% boost in GPU capabilities compared to its predecessor.
To enhance the device’s premium appeal, Nothing has introduced two metallic color options: an upgraded black and a new gray finish. While these aesthetic refinements contribute to a more sophisticated look, the core functionality remains largely unchanged.
The Phone 2A Plus comes equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at £399 in the UK and $399 in the US. This represents a £50/$50 increase over the 12GB variant of the 2A. Additional features include an upgraded 50-megapixel front camera with improved portrait mode and faster 50W wired charging. Notably absent is wireless charging, a feature increasingly common in this price segment.

Initial availability is limited to Nothing’s Soho store in London starting August 3rd and through a US beta program commencing tomorrow, August 7th. Compatibility with US networks remains restricted.
While the Phone 2A Plus offers performance enhancements and a more refined design, the question of whether these upgrades justify the increased price is subjective. Consumers seeking a budget-friendly device with a premium aesthetic may find the Plus appealing, but those prioritizing value may opt for the original 2A.
