Nothing Phone (1) design reveal and it looks similar to iPhone 12

Nothing‘s founder Carl Pei finally revealed the design of its first Nothing Phone (1) and we’re familiar with this design that seems similar to iPhone 12, it is currently trending on Twitter as people compare Nothing Phone (1)’s design with iPhone 12.

The Nothing Phone (1) was teased with a flat-edged semi-transparent design that displays the internal components of the Nothing Phone (1), and there is a dual rear camera layout with the cameras aligned vertically on the top-left corner of the back panel.

Now, while the design is distinct from the usual smartphone designs we have seen, people were quick to point out the similarity that Nothing Phone (1) shares with the iPhone 12, mostly due to the flat-edged design, and placement of the cameras, and the wireless charging coil.

Users on Twitter have noted that the Nothing Phone (1) looks like a transparent version of the iPhone 12, and called out the startup for simply “removing the iPhone 12’s back panel.” Some users even shared photos of the iPhone 12’s internals alongside Nothing’s back panel, noting that things are way too similar.

However, while the similarities are obvious, that doesn’t mean the brand has cloned the iPhone 12‘s design. For example, this is just one photo of the smartphone that we have seen, and other features of the smartphone are still to be revealed by the brand.

Additionally, there are new videos on the internet that reveal glowing elements of the Nothing Phone (1), something that we have not seen on any smartphone yet.

Sadly, nothing has still yet to reveal any of this phone’s specifications or features. According to rumors, Nothing Phone (1) will be in the mid-range of smartphones and may use Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPU. Nothing had previously stated that the device would run on the Nothing OS, which is simply a minimal Android custom launcher free of bloatware.

The Nothing Launcher app, which is now available on the Google Play Store, makes it possible to use the Nothing OS experience on any Android smartphone. The launcher maintains the stock Android interface and includes its own icon packs and widgets.

Nothing Phone (1) is also expected to come with a 4500mAh battery, a 45W wired fast charging technology, as well as wireless charging. The phone might have a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and regular bezels, a 50MP main rear camera, and somewhat low pricing.

Nothing Phone (1) will officially debut on July 12, 2022, via its YouTube channel.
