Microsoft is introducing a significant enhancement to Windows 11 by enabling direct access to Android phones within File Explorer. This new feature, currently in testing among Windows Insiders, will allow users to seamlessly browse, manage, and transfer files between their PC and smartphone.

The integration will present Android devices as familiar USB drives on the left-hand navigation panel of File Explorer. This intuitive interface will empower users to effortlessly copy, move, rename, or delete files across devices without the need for intermediary apps.

To utilize this feature, users will require an Android device running version 11 or later, enrollment in the Windows Insider program, and the beta version of the Link to Windows app. As the feature is being tested across all Insider channels, including the Release Preview ring, a broader release to Windows 11 users is anticipated in the near future.

Enabling the File Explorer integration is straightforward. Users can access the setting through the Bluetooth & Devices section in Windows Settings, where they can manage connected devices and toggle on File Explorer access.
