Microsoft is kicking off its “year of the AI PC” with the launch of two new Surface devices designed exclusively for business customers. The Surface Pro 10 for Business and Surface Laptop 6 for Business are the first Surface products to feature dedicated AI hardware, marking a significant step forward in the company’s push to integrate artificial intelligence into its flagship hardware lineup.
The new devices are powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors, which include a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) designed to accelerate AI workloads. Microsoft has also added a new “Copilot” key to the keyboards of both devices, which will provide quick access to the company’s forthcoming AI-powered assistant for Windows 11.
While the exterior designs of the Surface Pro 10 for Business and Surface Laptop 6 for Business remain largely unchanged from their predecessors, the internal hardware upgrades promise significant performance improvements and new AI-powered capabilities.
Surface Pro 10 for Business: AI-powered productivity on the go

The Surface Pro 10 for Business is the latest iteration of Microsoft’s popular 2-in-1 tablet, offering a versatile form factor for professionals on the move. Under the hood, it packs Intel’s Core Ultra 5 135U or Core Ultra 7 165U processors, with up to 64GB of RAM and a 256GB Gen4 SSD in the base configuration.
One of the standout features of the Surface Pro 10 for Business is its advanced front-facing camera, which boasts a 114-degree field of view and captures footage in 1440p resolution. Thanks to the NPU, the camera also supports Windows Studio Effects, enabling background blur and automatic framing during video calls – a boon for remote workers and frequent video conferencing.
Microsoft has also equipped the Surface Pro 10 for Business with an NFC reader, allowing businesses to easily use security keys like YubiKey for authentication. Additionally, a 5G option will be available for seamless connectivity on the go.
The 13-inch display has received an upgrade as well, with an anti-reflective coating and a 33% increase in brightness compared to its predecessor. While rumors had circulated about a potential OLED display, Microsoft has opted for an LCD panel for this business-focused model.
Surface Laptop 6 for Business: desktop-grade performance in a portable package

For professionals seeking desktop-grade performance in a portable form factor, the Surface Laptop 6 for Business delivers with Intel’s Core Ultra H-series processors. These chips, designed for high-performance laptops, promise twice the speed of the previous generation Surface Laptop 5.
The Surface Laptop 6 for Business will be available in both 13.5-inch and 15-inch configurations, with up to 64GB of RAM and 1TB of Gen4 SSD storage. Connectivity has been enhanced with the addition of two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports on the 15-inch model and one on the 13.5-inch variant, along with a USB-A port and a headphone jack.
Like its 2-in-1 counterpart, the Surface Laptop 6 for Business features an upgraded 1080p front-facing camera with Windows Studio Effects support, as well as the new Copilot key for easy access to Microsoft’s AI assistant.
Serviceability and upcoming AI features
In a nod to repairability, Microsoft has designed both the Surface Pro 10 for Business and Surface Laptop 6 for Business to be its “most easily serviceable Surface devices ever.” Internal components are marked with QR codes and guide markings to simplify repair and maintenance processes.

While specific details about the AI features enabled by the NPU and Copilot key are still under wraps, Microsoft has promised a comprehensive reveal of its “AI vision” for both software and hardware at a dedicated Windows and Surface AI event on May 20th. Consumers can expect to see AI-powered versions of the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 unveiled at this event, alongside new AI capabilities for Windows 11.
Availability and pricing
The Surface Pro 10 for Business and Surface Laptop 6 for Business will be available exclusively through Microsoft’s commercial channels and authorized resellers, starting on April 9th. Both devices will carry a base price of $1,199, reflecting their premium positioning and cutting-edge AI capabilities.
