Later this month, Microsoft will launch the Xbox TV app, which will let Samsung‘s 2022 smart TVs and monitor owners play Xbox games without a game console. That means Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play over 100 games on their Samsung 2022 smart TVs and monitors, with the game being cloud-powered by Xbox Series X custom hardware.
On June 30, 2022, the Xbox TV app will be available in 27 countries through the Samsung gaming hub. All you have to do is login in with your Microsoft account and play any Xbox games you choose.
For the Xbox app, Microsoft and Samsung will support a wide selection of controllers, including the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, Elite Series 2 Controller, Amazon Luna, and Sony‘s DualSense, and many others. You simply pair a controller with your device over Bluetooth and you’re ready to go. Sadly Microsoft isn’t upgrading its streaming resolution to 4K, games will only be available in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

“We are bringing the Xbox App to Samsung Smart TVs first, and our intent is to explore other TV partnerships as part of this next evolution in our vision,” explains Ashley McKissick, corporate vice president of Xbox gaming experiences and platforms.
