Meta’s text-based platform, Threads, has implemented a new feature designed to improve content discovery for users. Trending topics are now prominently displayed above posts on the platform, providing users with a direct pathway to explore popular conversations.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the update on Tuesday, stating that U.S. users can now tap on a label highlighting related trending topics to access a dedicated feed. This feed offers two viewing options: “Top” and “Recent,” allowing users to filter content based on their preferences.
The introduction of trending topics follows a period of testing that began in March and concluded with a broader rollout in April. This feature aligns with Threads’ ongoing efforts to curate a more personalized user experience.
In addition to the trending topics feature, Threads is experimenting with a multi-feed interface akin to Twitter/X’s TweetDeck (now called “X Pro). This feature, currently in testing phases for both desktop and iOS, aims to grant users greater control over their content consumption.
