Threads is rolling out an exciting new feature: a multi-column web view reminiscent of TweetDeck‘s interface. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently teased this development by sharing a sneak peek of the feature, currently undergoing testing.
In the revealed screenshot, users can spot a series of custom columns, including a “For you” section alongside various topic-based streams. What’s intriguing is the ability to pin favorite searches, topics, accounts, saved posts, and notifications, all customizable to individual preferences. Moreover, an auto-refresh function ensures these columns stay up-to-date with the latest content.
This move by Threads mirrors a similar offering by Twitter, now rebranded as X, which introduced the “X Pro” feature akin to the erstwhile TweetDeck layout. However, while X’s version demands an $8/month subscription, Threads’ counterpart remains free, potentially offering a comparable experience.
The introduction of a column-based web view not only enriches Threads’ user experience but also provides an alternative to the default “For you” feed, offering users more control over their content consumption. Bloomberg reports that users with access to this feature can pin up to a staggering 100 feeds to their homepage.

Despite its promise, the multi-column view is currently in the testing phase, available to only a select group of users. However, if successful, it could significantly bolster Threads’ appeal and user base.
In a related update, Threads recently introduced a feature enabling users to organize searches by recency, enhancing the platform’s utility in finding timely and relevant content.
