Meta today unveiled its latest offering in the virtual reality (VR) realm with the introduction of Quest Plus, a new subscription service that grants users access to a selection of VR games. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, announced this exciting development, emphasizing that Quest Plus provides subscribers with the opportunity to enjoy the “best titles on the platform.” In a blog post addressing the subscription, Meta highlighted that it offers a combination of VR’s most popular games, hidden gems, and beloved classics, presenting an affordable means of expanding one’s VR library with exceptional content.
In a video released by Meta (above), it is revealed that Quest Plus subscribers will receive two new titles each month. This familiar perk bears resemblance to other subscription services such as PlayStation Plus, which also provides complimentary games to its subscribers. According to the blog post, the games available for the month of July are Pistol Whip and Pixel Ripped 1995, while August will feature Walkabout Mini Golf and MOTHERGUNSHIP: FORGE.

To ensure a seamless experience for users, the new games will become claimable on the first day of every month. However, similar to PlayStation Plus, access to these games will only be available as long as subscribers remain active members of the service.
The Quest Plus subscription is already open for sign-ups, offering two pricing options. Subscribers can opt for a monthly plan at $7.99 or a yearly plan priced at $59.99. Additionally, those who sign up for the monthly subscription before July 31st will enjoy a special introductory offer, paying only $1 for their first month.
Initially, Quest Plus will be compatible with the Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro devices. However, once the highly anticipated Quest 3 hits the market, subscribers will also be able to enjoy the benefits of a subscription to the latest headset. It is expected that Meta will heavily promote the new subscription service upon the Quest 3’s release, slated for sometime during the fall season.
