LG recently offered a sneak peek at its upcoming lineup of Gram laptops that are set to be officially unveiled at CES 2024 in January. The Korean tech giant revealed refreshed versions of its popular super lightweight Gram series, along with two new premium models called the Gram Pro and Gram Pro 2-in-1 that come loaded with artificial intelligence capabilities.
The standard Gram laptops, consisting of Gram 17, Gram 16, Gram 15 and Gram 14, received modest updates focused on performance and display. They now pack the Intel Core Ultra processors to ensure smooth and responsive performance for everyday tasks. LG outfitted them with sharp IPS displays coated with anti-glare protection for reduced eye strain, while the two larger 17-inch and 16-inch models feature WQXGA resolution for incredibly detailed images.

But the stars of LG’s CES showcase are shaping up to be the all-new Gram Pro and 2-in-1 convertible laptops that seem aimed at more demanding users with their powerful hardware and AI enhancements.
Both Pro models are equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors that have been optimized for AI workloads, along with RTX 3050 GPUs for additional number crunching capabilities. But what truly makes them stand out is the built-in AI Boost technology that allows the laptops to run AI apps and tools smoothly even without an internet connection.

LG is also promising intelligent software features to boost productivity on its Pro laptops. Its Link app can now automatically sync and share files between devices, while an advanced cooling system with dual fans should allow the AI performance to shine without any thermal throttling issues.
The Gram Pro 2-in-1 model brings this potent AI power into a versatile convertible form factor with a stunning 16-inch OLED touchscreen display that works in notebook, tablet, tent or stand modes. LG is quick to highlight that this hybrid laptop holds the Guinness World Record for the lightest 16-inch 2-in-1.

LG has been ratcheting up its focus on AI in computing products over the past year, and its integration in the new Gram Pro series appears to be just the latest manifestation of this strategic priority. It remains to be seen how useful some of the promised AI features will be in real-world usage, but the Gram Pro models look like powerhouse machines on paper.
Full details such as pricing and availability are still to be announced during CES next month. But one thing is clear — AI is set to be central to the identity of LG’s next generation of premium laptops aimed at customers who need leading edge performance and intelligence from their mobile devices.
