In the latter half of 2023, Lenovo made a bold move into the portable gaming PC arena, aiming to compete with Valve’s Steam Deck. Their offering? The Lenovo Legion Go—a device that caught attention with its unique features, setting it apart from the competition.

Originally priced at $699.99 upon its debut, the Lenovo Legion Go is now available at a significantly discounted rate of $628.99 on Amazon—a $71 markdown from its initial retail price.

One standout feature of the Lenovo Legion Go is its impressive 8.8-inch QHD+ touchscreen display. This screen is notably larger compared to rivals like the Steam Deck, boasting a resolution of 1600p and supporting a refresh rate of up to 144Hz for smooth gameplay.

Under the hood, the Legion Go is powered by Windows 11 and sports AMD’s Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, alongside 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for onboard storage. If you need more space, the device includes a microSD card slot for easy storage expansion, or you can opt to upgrade the SSD yourself for greater capacity.

A key highlight of the Legion Go is its detachable side controllers, reminiscent of those found on the Nintendo Switch. These controllers allow for a versatile gaming experience—you can use them independently in each hand while the Legion Go stands on its own with a built-in kickstand. Additionally, one of the controllers can double as a mouse when detached from the device.

In terms of connectivity, the Legion Go features two USB Type-C ports (top and bottom), Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 for seamless wireless connectivity. The Legion Space UI provides easy access to various digital gaming stores and services, enhancing the user experience.

As a bonus, Lenovo sweetens the deal by offering a complimentary three-month subscription to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service with every Legion Go purchase, expanding gamers’ access to a wide range of titles.

With its compelling combination of a spacious high-resolution display, robust processing power, innovative control options, and thoughtful connectivity features, the Lenovo Legion Go presents itself as a formidable contender in the portable gaming PC market. Now available at a reduced price of $628.99, this device is poised to attract gamers seeking a versatile and immersive gaming experience on the go.
