Following the successful presentation of its True 5G services at the India Mobile Congress 2022, Reliance Jio will begin the Beta trial of its True 5G services today (October 5th, 2022) on the celebration of Dussehra. By invitation, the service will be made available to Jio customers in four cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi.

These Jio customers will have access to unlimited 5G data at speeds of up to 1Gbps+. Users will be able to take advantage of this Beta trial until a city’s network coverage is substantially complete in order to provide the best coverage and user experience to every customer.

Then, users who have been invited to participate in the ‘Jio Welcome Offer’ will be automatically upgraded to the Jio True 5G service without having to change their existing Jio SIM or 5G handset.

Reliance Jio 5G is an advanced network with zero dependencies on the 4G network. It offers advanced features such as low latency, massive machine-to-machine communication, 5G voice, edge computing, and network slicing. Besides that, it far outperforms other operators’ 4G-based non-standalone networks.

Jio True 5G uses the most extensive and appropriate mix of wireless spectrum for 5G across 700MHz, 3500MHz, and 26GHz bands, giving it a distinct competitive advantage over other operators. It is the only operator with the 700MHz low-band spectrum, which allows for extensive indoor coverage.

Using an advanced technology known as Carrier Aggregation, Jio seamlessly combines these 5G frequencies into a single robust “data highway.” It will provide an incredible amount of coverage, capacity, quality, and affordability.

The telco, which has over 425 million users in the country, stated that the Beta trial service for other cities will be announced in stages as cities prepare. Jio is also collaborating with all handset manufacturers to enable their 5G handsets to function.

According to the company, Jio’s True-5G is based on the “We Care” principle and will bring transformational changes to Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Skill Development, Small, Medium, and Large Enterprises, IoT, Smart Homes, and Gaming, influencing 1.4 billion Indians.

“India is leading the Digital revolution. Jio 5G will be True 5G, and we believe India deserves nothing less than TRUE 5G. Jio 5G will be the world’s most advanced 5G network, built for every Indian, by Indians. By embracing 5G, Jio will create nation-first platforms and solutions that will transform skill development, education, healthcare, agriculture, and many such sectors, with the promise of enabling a better life for every Indian,” said Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited Chairman Akash M Ambani.
