MachineGames is blowing out 15 candles with a little present for players: a free anniversary update for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle that goes live on October 10, 2025. It’s not a DLC-sized overhaul, but it hits the things fans have been asking for — and one addition in particular (New Game+) changes how you’ll think about replaying the whole adventure.

The update’s three headline items are straightforward and player-friendly:

  • New Game+ — unlocks after finishing the main story. Several progression items carry into the new run, and finishing NG+ rewards players with a brand-new ending sequence after the credits.
  • Cairo outfit — a free, non-disguise outfit inspired by Indy’s jacketless look from Raiders of the Lost Ark, unlockable via the Outfit tab. MachineGames says more costumes are on the way.
  • Voice language selector — mix any of the available voice languages with any text/subtitle language so you can, for example, keep the original English performances while reading subtitles in your native tongue.

Expect the usual assortment of bug fixes and quality-of-life tweaks bundled in, too — nothing flashy, but useful.

New Game+

This isn’t a barebones “restart with stats” mode. According to the studio, the New Game+ menu appears once you’ve completed the main story; you select a finished save, set up NG+, and jump back in. The important part: your unlocked Adventure Books (skills), medicine bottles, local currency, and any unspent Adventure Points carry over — so you’re not starting from zero. MachineGames even recommends bumping up the difficulty since you’ll be more powerful this time around. Finish NG+ and you’ll be treated to a new post-credits sequence, an incentive for completionists who like narrative rewards as much as gear.

That design choice signals what the update is for: replayability that respects the player’s prior investment. If you liked the story and want another run with new challenges (or just to see bits you missed), NG+ removes the need to rebuild everything from scratch.

A cosmetic drop might sound small, but Indiana Jones is a franchise built on iconic looks. Giving players Indy’s Cairo look is a little fan service, yes — but it’s also a nod to the audience who asked for classic touches after the game’s launch. The outfit is restricted (you can’t wear it when the level forces a special disguise), which preserves some scene-specific storytelling while letting players stroll the game world in a familiar silhouette.

Accessibility and personalization: voice language select

The new voice/text language mixer is a tidy quality-of-life win with an outsized impact. Players can pair one of the supported voice tracks with any of the available subtitle/text languages, which is great for bilingual players, language learners, or anyone who prefers the original performances while reading in another language. It’s a simple setting change with a big ripple for comfort and accessibility.

ROG Xbox Ally / Ally X detection

One oddly modern addition: the game will detect the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds and auto-adjust video quality settings to favour smoother performance on those devices. It’s a small technical touch, but it shows the studio is aware of where players are likely to be consuming the game next — including on portable Xbox-adjacent hardware — and wants the experience to hold up.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launched to genuine attention for its cinematic writing and performances; many outlets rated it strongly and player reaction was largely positive, praising the story, voice acting and production values. The game later received story DLC (The Order of Giants) and MachineGames confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 version slated for 2026 — so this update arrives at a moment when the title is still actively evolving.

If you’ve finished the game and were wondering whether another run would feel worth it, NG+ is the answer: you keep much of your toolkit, the challenge scale can be raised, and there’s a new ending to chase. If you haven’t finished the game, this update is still useful — the voice/text options and the Cairo outfit are available to everyone, and the stability fixes will help new players jumping in now. The patch is live on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 10, 2025.

Closing thought

This anniversary update isn’t a reinvention. It’s a tidy, community-minded refresh: a replay hook for completionists (New Game+), a touch of nostalgia (Cairo outfit), and sensible accessibility and hardware tweaks (voice mixing and Ally detection). For a studio celebrating 15 years, it’s a concise thank-you to players — and, for anyone who enjoyed the game’s story and performances the first time around, a reason to climb back into Indy’s boots once more.
