HTC, what year is it?
Hold onto your hats HTC fans, because the company is launching a new phone! Yes, you read that right, HTC, the once-dominant smartphone brand that seemed to vanish into thin air, is back with a new device.
Their teaser, posted on their X account (formerly Twitter) offers little more than a side-shot of the phone itself. But fear not, intrepid tech detectives, because a leak back in April might have spilled the beans on what this mysterious device could be.
Back in April, a phone was believed to be the HTC U24 Pro on the Google Play Console. This leak suggests that the U24 Pro will boast a display with a resolution of 1080×2436 and will be one of the first phones to come pre-loaded with Android 14. Under the hood, it will likely sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor paired with a whopping 12GB of RAM. Bluetooth 5.3 support is also expected.
The launch of the U24 Pro comes 13 months after its predecessor, the U23 Pro, which debuted in May of last year. This continued focus on the U series is interesting considering HTC’s overall decline in phone releases. The U series itself has a limited market presence, available only in select regions around the world.
The official launch is set for June 12th at 8 am Taiwan time.
