Google Slides is rolling out an upgraded library of professionally designed templates that promises to simplify the presentation-building experience for users, from students to business professionals. These templates are tailored for a wide range of use cases, including sales pitches, product roadmaps, lesson plans, workshop facilitation, and even templates for team games—ideal for workplace collaboration. Google aims to give users a quick way to create polished slides without starting from scratch, making Slides an increasingly viable alternative to PowerPoint for both personal and professional use.
For those familiar with Google’s workspace suite, the new templates streamline the slide creation process by allowing users to add pre-designed slides selectively, which makes it easy to craft a cohesive presentation with slides suited to various sections or themes. Accessible via a new “Templates” button on the toolbar or through the “Insert > Templates” menu, the feature is part of Google’s broader effort to make its productivity tools more intuitive and user-friendly. The templates are rolling out to all users in the U.S., covering both personal Gmail accounts and paid Google Workspace plans. However, availability is limited to those with the language setting “English (United States),” with users in other regions likely having to wait for broader access.

Google’s template update is part of a larger trend in Google Workspace, which recently saw improvements in Docs and Sheets to better support business needs, such as enhanced table formatting and organizational features. With a full rollout expected by the end of November, the new templates are positioned to be a key tool for those who want to save time on design while maintaining a professional look in their presentations.
